The group La veillée presents until December 6th their first production of the season L’heure du lynx by the Swedish author Per Olov Enquist. The director Téo Spychalski is surrounded by actors Francois Arnaud, Marthe Turgeon, Isabelle Tinkler and Gaétan Nadeau. The play tells the story of a young man who has committed a terrible crime; murder. Incarcerated in an institution for some years, he is now subjected to an experimental therapy. Two women, a psychologist and a nun, try to understand him. The man’s remarks make the two women face the existential questions that alter their conception of life.
New film project? Who knows.

In addition, filmmaker Alain Chartrand saw his project The Fisherman’s House be funded. As told by La Presse a few months ago in an interview with Chartrand, this biopic recounts the lives of the future members of the FLQ in Perce in 1969 when they opened a restaurant-hostel for young people without money.
During our interview last September, Alain Chartrand confided that the cast would include Evelyne Brochu, Luc Picard, François Arnaud and Raymond Bouchard. Written by Mario Bolduc and Jacques Bérubé, the film will be produced by Luc Pelletier Productions and distributed by Christal Films.

BravoTV Francois Arnaud Interview
The transcript =]
SB: So tell me about this family, and why are they so compelling?
FA: Um, the Borgias are a fifteenth century Roman family and they have a really, really bad reputation. But I think we’re trying to, you know, have an inside look at what really happened. Rodrigo Borgia, the father played by Jeremy Irons, becomes pope and they’re really a powerful dynasty. The whole family helps put him there and keep him there and it’s full of corruption and ambiguous relationships.
SB: Your character is very manipulative and.. he’s a bad guy!
FA: Most people would see him as a bad guy, I can’t because you know, it’s kind of, I kind of become him, and umm, he starts off as a very innocent, young boy who just wants to protect his family and he’s not really interested in the papacy, but he develops a taste for power and umm, and money I guess, and he becomes quite a big monster. But not yet, not yet.
SB: And what was it like to work with Jeremy Irons? Neil Jordan? Was this intimidating at all for you?
FA: It was a bit at first, very much actually. To have someone like Neil Jordan that I admired for so long to be remotely interested in me and my work is just a blessing. I keep, you know, giving you religious metaphors! But it was a blessing and to work with Jeremy Irons was a bit intimidating at first but I think it works for the character because Cesare can’t stand up to his father in the beginning either, so we had that in common (he lols).

eTalk chats with Francois Arnaud
Here’s the transcript =]
Etalk: I know many actors that would love to be in, you know, to be in your position. Where were you when you learned you got the part?
FA: I was coming back from London actually, where I had just tested with Jeremy Irons and I was at the airport, I had a message on my cellphone. I just called my agent, he was like “Yeah, you got..” I was just like literally walking out of the plane.
Etalk: And your reaction?
FA: Call my mom (he lols)

FA: Rodrigo Borgia becomes Pope Alexander VI and it’s set in fifteenth century Rome. What we kind of witness in the first episode is the race to the papacy and we help him put him there. It’s about gaining power and keeping power.
Etalk: Is there any way that you related to that character? And its darkness?
FA: A lot of ways actually, it’s a bit scary.
Etalk: We want to know!
FA: In that era, how I understood the way Cesare behaved, it’s terrible but yeah.
Etalk: You have said that Jeremy Irons is very sweet.
FA: Oh he’s a very sweet guy, very. A hardworker, but as a human being very generous, and simple.
Etalk: Why do you think North American audiences will relate to this show?
FA: I think it’s very reminiscent of what you can see today, like on Wall Street or like, it reminds me a lot of the Bush family story and the way they acquired power.
Etalk: I’m glad you’re not comparing it to Canadian politics.
FA: Ah, you know, that’s even more fucked up!
